Related Rowing Olympians

Self described "Olympic Enthusiast" David Clark has compiled the following interesting information. He suggests that it is likely that rowing has produced more related Olympians than any other Olympic sport. Whilst David and your correspondent have tried to ensure accuracy, there will be errors. Cate McNeil to race at Head of the Charles

You can't keep a good girl down. The McNeil family are currently enjoying a holiday in the States. However Cate McNeil has convinced her parents, and particularly father Andrew who will accompany her, to stay on after their holiday to race at the Head of the Charles, Head of the Schuylkill and some other regattas. Well done Cate.

Pointy end of the Championships - Day 6

Last night were the last of semi-finals and repechages and some non-Olympic finals. The conditions were a tough head breeze with very slow times. The conditions were so bad that there was a 15 second difference between one semi-final of the women's scull and the next heat!

World Championships Day 2

Day 2 started with two dominating performances from the Australian team in the PR3 Mixed double and in the women's pair with Club member Jess Morrison in bow. Both crews led from the start and stated their intentions strongly and winning by handsome margins. Both crews have excellent prospects for the weekend finals.

World Championships start with good results

Day one of the World Championships saw club member Fergus Hamilton win his heat in the men's pair along side his partner Simon Keenan. In other good news, top medal prospect Tara Rigney won her heat in the women's single.

Worls Championships commence tonight

The Australian team is well primed for a good World Championships with many medal prospects. The program can be found through this link. Tonight will see the single sculls, men's lightweight singles and doubles, men's pair and men's double. From Mercantile's perspective, Fergus Hamilton will be racing. From the team's perspective, the women's scull with Tara Rigney holds great promise.
