Another big entry at the Nagambie Regatta this weekend from both the performance group and the clubbies.

Australian Masters move from Perth to Ballarat

The WA insistence on locking out people from other States and the resulting Omicron problems that will arise, has led to the obvious conclusion that the Australian Masters Championships cannot be held at Champion Lakes.

NSW Championships Results

Some good racing on the weekend with wins to Jess Gallagher in the PR3, Al Viney and Alex Vuillermin in the PR3 pair, Al Viney then won the PR3 four, Red Matthews in both the lightweight single and double, Kat Werry in the women’s four and Benjamin Whitmee and Jordan Roberts winning both the lightweight four and eight. Sadly for them there was no lightweight pair race.

NSW Rowing Championships Entries

Mercantile is well represented at the NSW Championships this weekend and is our first opportunity to test ourselves against the best around Australia. All our performance team members from the senior ranks to our under age rowers are participating.

Rowing Victoria Coaching Grants available

Rowing Victoria is determined to assist all Clubs and Schools in delivering a quality rowing service for all participants and recommends that all coaches hold a RA coaching accreditation.

Congratulations Alistair Matthews

Rowing Australia announced today that our performance coach Alistair Matthews was awarded a scholarship to the University of Queensland's Graduate Certificate in Sports Coaching Academic Course.

Jessica Morrison boat naming

At the first Thursday of the month big boats night, the Club named the Jessica Morrison. It was great to see Jess at the Club again and go out for a row beforehand. She joined about 60 other members who rowed that night including 6 eights from the Club.

Botanic Gardens Dredging - Message from RV

You would have read recent comms regarding the current dredging operations taking place either side of the Morrell St Bridge on the Botanical Gardens side of the river. If you have been on the river since, you would have noticed that the dredging exclusion zone is currently further into the river than initially outlined.
