Congratulations to John Harry on his Australian Honour announced today. It is gratifying to see Club members recognised in this way.

Our underage Australian team members receive their uniforms

As mentioned below, one of the very sad aspects of lockdown 4 in Melbourne has been the inability of our under age team members to compete in Adelaide this weekend. The consolation was a handicap event for our elite rowers at Carrum on 12th June combined with presentation of Australian uniforms.

The bitter impacts of lockdown 4

Five members who have trained for a pinnacle race as members of the Australian team, cannot get to the regatta because of the lockdown.

World Cup 3 Simulation Regatta

Our rowers in national teams will compete on 10 – 13 June 2021 in Adelaide at the World Cup 3 simulation regatta. This regatta features the Australian Senior A, Para, Under 23, Under 21 and Under 19 rowing teams.

Olympic qualification regatta results

Congratulations to the women's quad scull who have now qualified for the Olympic Games after wining at the qualification regatta in Lucerne. The quad contained Ria Thompson who raced for Mercantile before heading up to Brisbane. Sadly the Olympic dreams of Red Matthews were put to bed after the men's double scull failed to qualify.

The following crews are scheduled to race tonight ion the Olympic Qualification Regatta in Lucerne this weekend.

Mercantile in the Australian under 23 team

Congratulations to Emmie Frederico, Paige Barr and coach Al Matthews on their selection into the Australian under 23 four. They will not travel overseas this year but will race at the World Cup 3 simulation regatta with our members of the Australian team.
