Quite apart from the State crews, our club crews came to the fore on Sunday with the finals of the club boats. It was first day of good rowing conditions all week.

The Club finished second in the men's and women's Club fours and also second in the men's and women's Club eights.

Then the Interstate races began in earnest.

Dom Frederico capped off his season competing in the President's Cup. His great uncle John Williams also represented Victoria in the same event some 70 years earlier.

Sophie Reinehr also raced for the first time in the Nell Slatter, but also did not take a placing.

In what your correspondent thought was the best race of the day, Victoria won the Penrith Cup. The crew stroked by Ben Whitmee and containing Jordan Roberts, went out strongly and held their form and strength to win in this fiercely contested event. It was of course the first interstate win for these members and they enjoyed the experience.

The other big race was again the successful win by the women in the Queen's Cup. It was a superbly raced event with their experience and depth shining through. Congratulations to our club members Paige Barr, Kat Werry, Jess Morrison and Harley verbunt on their winn. It was coached by Al Matthews.

It is also great to see them win as they know how to celebrate!
