Saturday racing again revealed some top racing. The lightweight eights lived up to their reputation as a tough and tight event with the first three crews finishing within 1.3 seconds of each other. A superb race. The second placed Mercantile composite crew was stroked by Ben Whitmee and also contained Jordan Roberts and Stephen O'Sullivan.
Then came a big win in the under 23 quad scull with Paige Barr, Sophie Reinehr, Louise carr and Lou Bongrain. It was an all the way win finishing 4.4 seconds from a second placed composite crew.
Our men's under 23 eight finished fourth in an event dominated by composite crews.
Our lightweight men's four suffered the same fate finishing fourth with a start that could have been faster. They did not make the same mistake on Sunday in the interstate race and won.
The under 23 girls finished second in a race full of composite crews again.
Some of the Club rowers jumped into an open eight withour success, but Jack Robertson picked up a silver in a composite UTS crew.
