The Paralympics took an even more special place in our hearts with our own Al Viney competing in the PR3 four and the highly competitive para rowing squad at Mercs.
Australia finished with a silver medal for Erik Horrie in the PR1 Scull, a fourth place in the PR3 mixed four and a seventh place for the PR2 mixed double scull.
As mentioned in previous bulletins, the preparation of the PR3 mixed four was far from ideal with the crew only getting together upon arrival in Tokyo for the first time since May due to COVID restrictions. Mercantile did its best for Al Viney providing racing and training in mixed fours and in other sweep boats. She was well prepared.
Now for some images of the Paralympics to refresh your memories.
