The trustees of the Club's Foundation are pleased to announce that $20,000 will be made available from the Colgan Fund to assist athletes with their seat fees.
The Club's Foundation was established back in 1980 with a donation from the Late James Sprigg. The Foundation has grown over the years to more than $1.8mil in no small amount due to the donations of our greatest benefactor Sean Colgan. These donations are matched by Club members. Well done Sean.
The active objects of the Foundation are:
- To provide the Club with funds to renovate the boathouse every 21 years - the Sprigg fund
- Assisting our athletes competing overseas for Australia or Mercantile - the Colgan fund
- Annually assisting the Club with equipment costs - the Frederico fund.
The Foundation has provided some $70,000 this season towards these objects. Every year, this figure grows.
