Sport Australia Hall of Fame report as follows:

Paige Georgia Barr is a rower who was awarded a Tier 3 Scholarship within the 2023 Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship and Mentoring Program.
Born in Bairnsdale, Paige attended Gippsland Grammar where she began rowing in 2016 at 15 years of age.

Four years later, she was selected to row for the Victorian team; however, she endured a disrupted campaign due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Paige was selected for her first underage Australian team in 2021, however, her debut was again put on hold until she was finally able to compete at the 2021 Australian Rowing Championships where her U21W4+ crew won gold.

2022 was another successful year for Paige and she was named in the Senior Australian Rowing Team and U23 Australian Rowing Team. She competed at the U23 World Rowing Championships in Varese, Italy where the BW4- crew brought home the bronze medal.

She followed this success with selection on the Senior Australian team to compete at the World Rowing Cups II and III where she raced in the W8+ at both regattas. She placed third at the World Rowing Cup II in Poznan, Poland and won gold at the World Rowing Cup III in Lucerne, Switzerland.

After her recent international success, Paige, a sweep and scull specialist, is working towards her goal of joining the Australian Rowing Team at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and continues studying for her undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sport Science.

“It is a huge honour to be announced as a Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship recipient. I am immensely grateful for the support and assistance gained through my selection in this program and to be a part of such a positive and supportive group.” –  Paige Barr on being selected as a 2023 Tier 3 Scholarship Holder.
