Beware - GoBoats

The introduction of self drive hire boats on the Yarra has resulted in considerable harm to rowing boats on the Yarra and Mercantile is no exception.
Two eights, the Colgan and the Edgar have had head on collsions with boats and at least one of the boats is likely to be a write off. So far the only injuries has been severe bruising to one of our rowers.
This is a significant issue for the sport and Rowing Victoria and Marine Safety are now involved.
