Cate McNeil featured strongly as usual in many races including the school scull, double scull and a strong performance in the under 21 pair racing for her school Haileybury finishing second.

They doubled up with Imogen Nation, Grace Ivers, Cox: Isobel Finch to finishe second in the under 21 four in a good showing for the women's under 21 group. We have some excellent rowers in this group and well done to coach and rowers.
The men's lightweight group have depth and experience and accordingly racing well. Of interest are well known Mercs names appearing in the squad - Oscar Tyrell, son of past rower Marcus, and Alex Tomanovits, grandson of Martin Tomanovits. Despite the fastest lightweight in Victoria currently being a Uni man, the rest are all Mercs rowers including second placed Ben Whitmee who was a member of the winning lightweight double, third placed Vice-Captain Jordan Roberts and fourth placed Alex Tomanovits. All Mercs crews came first and second in the lightweight pairs with Ben Whitmee and Jordan Roberts winning ahead of second placed crew of Oscar Tyrell and Alex Tomanovits. Things are looking promising for under 23 and open lightweight events at the State Championships.
