2015 APS Heads of the River
Published 22nd March 2015
The APS Heads of the River was again conducted in Nagambie where spectators witnessed some great racing. The boys 1st eights once again went to Scotch in a great race with Melbourne Grammar with Brighton in third place. Melbourne Grammar went off very hard and fast but Scotch stayed with them. It only took a couple of bad strokes for Scotch to seize the moment and take a winning lead. It was a superb race in a record winning time.
The girls 1st eights was a sensational race for another reason. Geelong Grammar raced with such power and precision that had the race won from the start. It was a dominating performance. The winning margin was huge and the time was a record.
What makes these performances so good, was the fact that the conditions were still, and if anything, slight cross head. Go to the gallery for more pictures.

Thanks go to the great organising committee which comprised representatives from Scotch College and Mercantile. They included Dee Bosler, regatta secretary, Garry and Jenny Fraumano assisting Dee, Bill Webster, Stephen Webster, Andrew Emmett, Andrew Murchie, Neil Strathmore, Mark Nothnagel, Rohan Sutherland and referee Andrew Guerin. A small selection of photos of the regatta are in the gallery.
